Southwest Florida Office Solutions is the Authorized Xerox Agency for Collier, Lee, Hendry, Sarasota, Charlotte, and Manatee counties, so it is safe to say we know a thing or two about printers. While we are available to take care of all of your printer service needs, there are some troubleshooting tricks you can try yourself that might help some of your printer problems without you needing to call us. Check out these printer troubleshooting tips here:
Paper jam
If you make regular use of a printer, then you know that a super common issue with printers is a paper jam. Luckily, this is a problem that is typically simple to fix on your own without calling the pros. Thanks to technology, many printer screens will show you where the jam is in the printer, which takes the guessing work out of paper removal.
Streaky scans
The Automatic Document Feeder (ADF) on top of your printer can easily become dusty and dirty over time with use. If you are noticing your scans have streaks over them, then your ADF likely needs to be cleaned. This is another troubleshooting trick that can be done by yourself without assistance from a professional, but be extra careful, as you are dealing with glass.
When all else fails, reboot
Yes, the tried and true troubleshooting trick of “unplug it and plug it back in” works wonders with printers, too. If your attempts to fix the problems are unsuccessful, then unplugging your printer, waiting at least 30 seconds, and plugging it back in will reboot the system and likely fix the problem.
If the above troubleshooting tasks do not fix your printer’s problems, then Southwest Florida Office Solutions is here to save the day. Our printer services include:
